It was over dinner, at a local Melbourne Italian restaurant, that the first real shape of Cavalo Prestige began to form. Wes Maas, Cameron Pascoe, and Hass Fahd found themselves deep in conversation about what the ultimate prestige dealership could be. The idea wasn’t just to create a place to buy and sell prestige vehicles. It was to build a comprehensive one-stop shop for prestige. A true destination that delivered an experience as special as the cars on offer, and set a new standard in Australian automotive retail.
As the night went on, the conversation circled around names. One stood out: Cavalo. It was clean. Strong. A nod to the Portuguese word for ‘horse’, it tied in nicely with the calibre of vehicles they would stock and their heritage.
The following day, they looked up the restaurant where that conversation had taken place. The family who owned the restaurant shared the surname Cavallo. And with that coincidence, the name wasn’t just chosen, it seemed to have found them. Cavalo Prestige was born.
6-months later, as you walk through the newly renovated showroom, the idle of a Ferrari 488 is interrupted by lively conversation, the scent of freshly roasted coffee lingers from Roasting Warehouse downstairs, and all around you, lies an unbelievable range of prestige cars. Cavalo Prestige opened in March of 2025, and now boasts Australia’s largest single-site prestige dealership. Every month, Cavalo purchases hundreds of vehicles, with sellers ranging from private owners to dealer networks. For the public, the process of selling a car is fast, transparent, and designed for convenience. Sellers can submit their vehicle details online or speak with the acquisitions team directly, Cavalo handles the rest, from inspection to payment and pick-up. Another major pillar of the business is the Cavalo Prestige Service Centre, purpose-built for setting a new standard in prestige vehicle servicing. Cavalo Prestige is spear-headed by CEO and Managing Director, Cameron Pascoe. With a strategic vision shaped off the back of 30+ years in the trade, Pascoe conceptualised the foundations of a project that could scale, a prestige dealership united by both retail and wholesale under one roof, with the right people and the right purpose. Pascoe’s known for launching and growing one of Australia’s most successful interconnected automotive enterprises, the Port Motor Traders group. Collaborating alongside Wes Maas and Hass Fahd, Pascoe brings strategic clarity and the executional strength to transform ambitious ideas into reality.
As the driving force behind the project, Wes Maas, the majority owner, is best known as the founder and CEO of the $1.5 billion ASX-listed Maas Group. His story began with a $14,000 bank loan, a bobcat, and a tip truck. Today, he leads one of the country’s most successful construction and property businesses from regional NSW. With a track record of building and scaling successful businesses, Maas recognised the potential with this opportunity in the prestige automotive market. After being introduced to Cameron Pascoe and Hass Fahd, Maas recollected “We had about 10 or 15 first dates, worked each other out, and made sure we were aligned in culture and values”. The shared values came together, and as Maas puts it, they had a vision to “Give people an extraordinary experience… To build every single part of the business to be the best.”
As Cavalo Prestige’s General Manager of Retail, Hass Fahd is a true powerhouse of people, energy, and connection. As one of the most influential names in the industry, built over two decades in automotive, Fahd is no stranger to leading and growing successful networks of prestige dealerships. With a decade in senior leadership roles, Fahd has built a reputation for creating an incredible culture and inspiring trust from both customers and team members.
